Welcome to those who are regular visitors to our web site and to those who are first timers, you should notice some improvements in the way you can navigate your way around the site and thanks are due to our new webmaster Colin Nash.
The latest addition to arrive on our site is the donation button and this does everything it says on the tin pardon the pun, it takes your money, should you wish it and you decide the amount. But on more serious note this is an important addition, as it will, with your help, allow the Cunarder project to purchase boiler tubes, stays and axle box bronzes or in the case of the 9f Morning Star build a new tender. The choice of project is yours whether it is Cunarder or 9f Morning Star as all funds raised through this method will go directly to the individual project requested.
All monies greatly received and will allow us to progress quicker.

SIDE SLIDE VALVE

Hi, to those who follow us, a Happy New Year. Here are the latest set of photographs to put in our gallery. (16-01-2013)

The opening photograph shows the drivers cylinder side slide valve assembly, with the cover removed. Given the time this has been exposed to the elements, it's in good condition. As we move through the sequence, its shows the assembly from the early stages of cleaning and inspection, to slide valve removal. Once removed, it is intended to clean area thoroughly, removing any debris, then blue the valve faces, to see how flat the faces are. This will show if they need lapping or worst case, machining. This work is carried out by the project manager Mick Hatton.
